No writing
Just talk. Tala writes it for you.
This is what Ruth said out loud, and the page Tala wrote from it. The ums are gone, the words are hers, and nothing is made up.
What Ruth said
Um, okay. So the first thing, oh, the first thing you'd notice walking into our house on Elm Street was the coffee. You could smell it from the porch. My mother had a pot going from six in the morning till supper, and she'd pour a cup for anybody who came through that door. Even the mailman! And the kitchen, the kitchen was tiny, and yellow, and there was a radio on the windowsill that always, always had the ball game on. Tom and I, that's my brother, we'd sit under the table and just listen while she cooked. Is that enough? Okay.
Recorded on her phone, in her kitchen. 1 minute 12 seconds.

The kitchen was small and yellow, with a radio on the windowsill that always had the ball game on. My brother Tom and I used to sit under the table and listen while she cooked.
